WHAT ARE YOUR PERSONAL TRAINING & BOOT CAMP LOCATIONS?

The primary personal training locations are The Edge Fitness and Fox Fitness. Harris Physical Fitness, LLC is an independent contracting fitness professional company.  Personal training can be conducted at your home or local park within a 3 mile radius of the 76131 zip code. In the case of training outside of primary locations, posted rates do not apply. A quote must be requested.

 

Basketball training is held at The Saginaw Recreation Center. 

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes. Harris Physical Fitness is professional liability insured with Fitness and Wellness Insurance, a Philadelphia Insurance Company.

 

WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?

DaShawn earned The Cooper Institute Physical Fitness Specialist Certification, a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Exercise Science (SES), and a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus in SESDara earned her CPT from American College of Sports Medicine and a sports conditioning specialist certification with American Council on Exercise.

 

ARE YOU CERTIFIED IN CPR/AED/FIRST AID?

Yes. As cliché as it sounds, your safety is our priority. An injury is the fastest way to decrease your quality of life and overall health. We do our best to physically challenge, while not harming the body.

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO START TRAINING?

For a more efficient initial consultation and training sessions, please complete a wellness questionnaire, a physician’s release form, and a release of liability form. All forms listed can be found and downloaded on the FORMS tab.

DO PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS EXPIRE?

Yes. Every session has an expiration date that will be listed on your invoice or communicated the date of your invoice payment. Typically, a package of sessions is permitted an additional 7 days to be completed. For example, when you purchase a package of 8 sessions which is designed to be completed for 2 sessions in 4 weeks. A client can complete the 8 sessions within 5 weeks before any sessions expire.

 

WILL A DIET PLAN BE INCLUDED?

No; however, food journaling is recommended throughout training based on your goals. Harris Physical Fitness does not employee a registered dietitian or nutritionist. All nutritional and diet advice is general recommendations for a healthier way of eating. You are strongly recommended to speak with a registered dietitian and/or a nutritionist about your current diet in regards to weight loss or maintenance. To be held accountable for your daily diet, sign up for an account.

 

DEFINE COUPLE'S PERSONAL TRAINING SESSION.

Two people (male and/or female) exercising during a 45 minute session. For a more effective and concise workout, it is highly recommended that the partners have the same fitness level and/or goals.

 

WHAT IS RECOMMENDED FOR A TRAINING SESSION?

Water, hand towel, and heart rate monitor. The efficient use of a heart rate monitor optimizes the burning of fat and supports the enhancement of your metabolism.

 

WHAT RESULTS CAN I EXPECT AFTER COMPLETING ONE MONTH OF TRAINING A MINIMUM OF TWICE PER WEEK?

Although, results do vary; you will be overall physically stronger and more efficient in breathing during physical activity. There are NO PROMISES made regarding body fat loss or reduction of inches. Past clients, who have combined a healthier way of eating and drinking with an increase of physical activity have been successful in losing inches and body fat.

 

WHO BENEFITS THE MOST FROM HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL AND FUNCTIONAL TRAINING?

Those who desire to burn the most body fat during and after their workout, increase their cardiovascular endurance and lean muscle mass, and improve their ability to move better at everyday activities.

 

WHAT ARE OUR OBJECTIVES?

First and foremost, our focus is helping you reach your physical fitness related goals. Also, we place great emphasis on encouraging and supporting you towards creating a healthier lifestyle through physical fitness and a healthier way of eating and drinking.

 

IF I HAVE RANGE OF MOTION OR PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS, CAN I STILL TRAIN?

In most cases, the answer is ‘Yes’. After your completed health and fitness questionnaire is received, an evaluation will be made regarding your ability to participate. Typically, a physician’s willingness to sign an exercise release form is sufficient to proceed with training. 

 

HAVE YOU EVER TRAINED ANYONE WITH RANGE OF MOTION AND PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS?

Yes, from aching knees to lower back pains. There are several modifications which can be made to ensure an efficient and challenging workout, while reducing your chances of injury or re-injury.

 

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FITNESS CONSULTATION?

During your fitness consultation, we will discuss your diet, health history, past and present experiences pertaining to physical fitness, gather body measurements, and conduct a body fat percentage test using skin fold calipers (unless over 30% body fat) and/or Bioelectrical Impendence Analysis (BIA). You will be given verbal instructions of how to improve your health through physical fitness and diet. The cost for the fitness consultation differs depending on facility location. If you decided to purchase a package, your consultation payment will be applied to your package cost. The consultation duration is no more than 45 minutes. 

 

CAN YOU BRIEFLY DESCRIBE YOUR BOOT CAMP TRAINING STYLE? 

A group exercise experience with full-body workouts that target the major muscle groups of the upper & lower body, while enhancing your cardiovascular endurance. Our boot camps are designed for the general public. If you have medical issues, physical limitations, and/or limited range of motion, you are strongly encouraged to speak with your physician for clearance.

 

IF 50% OF MY PERSONAL TRAINING SESSIONS END AFTER 12PM OR DURING THE WEEKEND,  DO I STILL HAVE TO PAY THE $5 PER SESSION SURCHARGE FOR EVENING SESSIONS? 

Yes. When purchasing a package, if 3 or more sessions are scheduled to end at or after 1245p or during the weekend, your personal training package will include evening surcharge. 

I'M INTERESTED IN BASKETBALL TRAINING FOR MY CHILD. HOW DO I GET STARTED? You access the same forms as personal training clients. Your child will undergo a basketball skill's assessment to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Also, during the initial consultation, we will discuss your child's basketball related goals. Basketball training is typically conducted at the Saginaw Recreation Center; however, we may discuss other options.
